Inadequacies of the black box method for exergy analysis are presented．The calculated re-sults of the SP type kiln by system exergy analysis are given and the concept of control link criterion as applied to the energy system is introduced，shedding light on the key link of the SP type kiln for effi-cient use of energy and energy-saving.
