原生质体培养和植株再生技术是药用植物生物工程的基础，药用植物原生质体的来源，酶解的条件，培养基的组成，培养的方法等对原生质体培养有着很大的影响。目前，原生质体培养在药用植物高产细胞系的筛选、体细胞杂交和基因工程方面已取得了长足的进展。
