The Present Status and Development of Water-proofing Materials for Leather

本文论述了皮革防水材料的国内外发展概况及皮革防水材料的分类、性能及防水性能的测试等。防水革是近年皮革流行品种之一，皮革防水材料和防水革的研究、开发、生产已引起世界制革和皮化工作者的重视，现已有七大类材料用于制革防水。国内一些研究单位已开展研究工作，取得一些成果，但仍不能满足制革需要，尚需加强皮革防水材料的研究与开发。

eports about the growing circumstances,both in China and abroad,of water一proofing materials for leather,and classifications,properties,as well as characteristicanalyses,etc.of the title products have been given in this paper。Great importance have been attached by tanners and chemists to the studies,developments and productions of water一proofing materials and water一proofingleathers,due to the facts,that water一proofing leathers have become one of fashion-able leathers in recent years. As a result,7 types of water一proofing materials arenow available for leather water一proofings,Some research institutions in China havealready studied such materials, and some progresses also obtained, but more workmust be done relating to the researches and developments of the materials,owing tothe requirements of leather一makings.
