摘要
本文描述了基于客户-服务器模式、面向协同应用的分布式多媒体支撑平台的结构。基于此分层的平台结构,作者给出了一个以联网的PC机和MS—Windows为硬软件环境的多媒体桌面会议系统的设计。此系统用单一网络综合传输所有媒体信息,除支撑平台外,还包括共享白板、共同编辑、实时语音通信、共享视频以及多媒体电子邮件等分布式协同应用,为分布在各地的用户提供一种坐在自己的办公桌前召开会议,进行同步和异步讨论的环境,这种协作可利用视频、音频、图象、图形以及文本等多种媒体形式。
he authors describe a client-server moded software architecture of supporting platform for distributed multimedia application intended to cooperative work. According to the layered architecture described herein, a multimedia desktop conferencing system is designed using connected PC and MS-Windows. With a unique network for transporting all forms information, the system consists of shared whiteboard, cooperative document editor,real-time audio annotation, shared living video and multimedia electronic mail as well as the platform. It provides geographically separative group members, seated at their desks, with an environment for holding conferences and working together at the same time or at different times by means of sharing information in such multimedia forms as video, audio, image, graphics and text.
