Hydroformylation of 1-heptene catalyzed by homogeneous and heterogeneousRu_3(CO)_(12) catalyst has been investigated. It was found that Ru_3(CO)_(12) has almost no activityfor hydroformylation when reaction temperature is below 60℃, and nearly stable activityover 100℃, The maximum selectivity to aldehyde is obtained at l20℃ and N/I(Normal/iso-mer) ratios of aldehyde and alcohol decrease rapidly with increasing the temperature for ho-mogeneous catalysis. Supported Ru_3(CO )_(12) catalyst modified with NaBH_4 or KOH showedhigher catalytic activity and selectivity to aldhehyde in heterogeneous catalysis. Comparingwith supported Ru_3(CO)_(12) , Ru_3(CO)_(12)/Co_2(CO)_8/γ-Al_2O_3 catalyst has higher activity andselectivity. Adding PPh_3 or(NEt_4 ) Cl into the reaction system, the selectivity to aldehydeand N /I ratio increase.
