Using Wavelet Transform for Spacial Filtering──Edge Detection and Denoising

空域滤波是图像处理的一个重要组成部分．本文提出了用多尺度小波变换局部模最大值进行图像空域滤波（主要是边缘检测及去噪）的方法，并叙述了该方法在图像分析、图像压缩编码等方面的可能应用．

Spacial filtering is the most important part in image processing. This paper proposes an efficient multiscale wavelet transform approach for spacial filtering of images, especially edge detection and denoising. Then it briefly discusses the possible application of multiscale edge detection output in image analysis and compact image coding.
