Changes of the bifurcation of common carotid artery in different head positions

在不同体位条件下,观察了33具成人尸体颈总动脉分叉处的高度及颈外动脉和颈内动脉起始段的位置关系与变化规律,以便为临床上暴露颈总动脉分叉处的血管,施行有关血管手术提供参考资料.

The height of the bifurcation ofthe common carotid is changeable inaccordeance with the different headpositions.In observation of 66 cases.the anatomic findings show that thebifurcation is apparently lower whenthe head is deviated from the centrethan in an anatomic position.Howe-ver,in 80% of the cases,the bifur-cations are located between the upperborder of the thyroid cartilage andthe surface of the greater cornu ofthe hyoid bone.In a deviated headposition,the initial part of the ext-ernal carotid artery revolves innerwardand in most cases it is on the frontal-inner side or inner side.Addition-ally,it is observed that the superiorthyroid artery in about 50% of thecases originates from the common ca-rotid artery.
