抗氧化中药防治动脉粥样硬化的临床观察

A clinical observation of the antioxidant traditional Chinese herbs to prevent and treat atherosclerosis

用首乌等抗氧化中药治疗４１例颈动脉粥样硬化患者６个月，结果临床症状改善，血过氧化脂质含量降低，彩色多普勤超声检查显示颈动脉斑块消退，有效率达７１％，明显优于对照药物绞股蓝总甙。

patients with atherosclerosis were treated with traditional Chinese herbs including antioxidant shouwu(polygonum multiflorum) for 6 months. The results showed that symptoms were improved and blood lipid peroxidation (LPO) was reduced significantly. Color Doppler flow imaging(CDFI) was used to examine the carotid plaque, which disappeared or was reduced in 71% of cases. The therapeutic effect was significantly higher in the treated group as compared with control subjects who were treated by gynostemma pentaphylla. We consider that the antioxidant traditional Chinese herbs may provide a new method to prevent and treat atherosclerosis.
