Abstract At present, it is imperative to develop and popularize low-polluting autos, such as electric auto, to tackle the growing environmental pollution problems in big cities, including the pollution of nitrogen dioxide.The article gives a brief introduction on the neccesity of developing low - polluting auto; electric,methanol, liquefied Petroleum gas and hydrogen - driven autos and the current status of development and popularization of such edes in Japan.
