The Past, Present and Future of MDF Board

８０年代以来，ＭＤＦ是各种人造板中发展最迅速的产品，受到广泛的关注。本文介绍了自１９６６年世界上第一条ＭＤＦ生产线在美国建成至今ＭＤＦ的发展史，分析了世界森林资源的变化，人类环境保护意识的增强及技术的进步等因素对ＭＤＦ发展的推动作用。指出在新建ＭＤＦ厂时必须考虑的市场、原料、设备与技术的选择及资金等因素。介绍了我国ＭＤＦ的科研设计和生产发展情况。

Abstract Since 1980s' MDF board has been a type of panel noted for its fastest deve-lopment. The authoress first gives a historical description of this board. Then shemakes an analysis of the causes of its booming development: (1 ) dwindling of naturalforests resulting in sharp decrease of raw materials for plywood due to diameter minim-ization of available log, (2) the problem of serious pollution due to the use of wetmethod for fiber board production , (3) easy processing and extensive application of MDFboard possessing good mechanic characteristics, (4) the rapid development of MDFboard accelerated by progress of modern new technology. However, the development ofMDF board is influenced by various factors , such as market ,raw materials , processingtechnology and equipment,and availability of capital. Among them market is the mostinfluential factor. Besides this, there must be adequate supply of materials and ad-hesives sold at rational price and being easily transported. The research on MDF boardin China began in 1970s. A production line was set up in 1982. Most of MDF board mil-ls in China are of small capacity, and the board produced is used in furniture manufac-ture. So the development of MDF board in China has a broad bright prospect.
