The object of this work was to establish,or the basis of a solution of the Schrodinger equation with approximate allowance for the correlation of eleclrons,the dependence of the energies of doubly excited s states of the lIe isoelectronic series on the nuclear charge and quantum numbers and to derive approximation formulas permitting not only a qualitative but also a quantitative estimate of the energies of highly excited staies.
