The expert system used for the liquid rocket engine (LRE) fault diagnosis is described. Basis on bias determination, an approach using the expert system method to discerning variable thrust rocket fault modes is presented. The fault simulation shows that the expert system can be successfully employed in the LRE fault discernment.
