摘要
本文提出了一种新观点，即大城市的出现对地震有激发作用，列举了被认为是城市激发的震例，讨论了城市地震发生的机理，其中仅从重力荷载这一个方面的定量讨论中也可以得出：如果其它外力对地震有激发作用，那么城市激发地震的现象更值得重视，还讨论了涉及到城市激发地震的其它问题．
This paper introduces a new view, that is: appearance of big cities excites the earthquakes. The authorsbring some earthquake examples that are considered to be from urban excitation and have disscussed themechanism of the urban earthquakes. The conclusion may .be got only from the quantitative discussion ofgravitational loading. If other external forces excite earthquakes, much attention must be paid to urban excitation for earthquake' Other problems related to the urban earthquake excitAtion have also been discussed.
