本文以北京大学图书馆图书信息查询服务器 (PUL SER)为实例 ,阐述 Client/ Server方式中服务器程序设计的基本思想和技术要点。文章分三部分 :(1) A P T系统介绍 ;(2 )客户机 /服务器模式与远程过程调用 ;(3)北京大学图书馆图书信息查询服务器。

This paper use the Peking University Library Catalogue Access Serv er as an examp le,expound the main idea and technique gists in the design of server program bas ed on the Client/Server computing model. This article primarily consists of thre e parts: (1) The introduction of APT system;(2) An overview of Client/Server com puting model and RPC; (3) Peking University Library Catalogue Access Server (PUL SER).more detail techniques of server design is presented in part three.
