UV and zero-crossing derivative spectrophotometry has been used to determinemixtures of theopbylline and cimetidino. The samples were determined by UV at 271 1 um fortheophylline and by zero-crossing derivative spectrophotometry fer cimetidine without anyseparatlon step. The calibration curve are linear over 2-12 ug/ml of theophylline (r=0.9999) andi-10ug/ml of cimetidine (r=0.9999). This method is simple, rapid and reliable. The meanrecoveries are 102.0%+ 0.6% for theophylline and 100.4% +1.2% forcimetidine.
