Abstract In the past few years, winds of firm-annexation have surged in the Asian-pacific areas: withU. S. as major firm-annexation b3ttlefield,Japanese firms have suffered losses in annexation abroad,While Korean firms have been gradually coming up and many other countries in the region have takenactive roles. There are characteristics such as decreasing financial speculation,' whales eating bigfishes'as new trend,gradual disappearing of trade annexation,corporate strategy alliance as main feature,and diversthcation and imbalance of annexation etc. in the new round of annexation winds. Thaisare mainly due to production globalization,capital concentration and the uplift of monopoly degree basedon pet-war sci-tech progress and other factors. In the meantime, it is also the need of attaining advanced teChnology,avoiding trade barriers and gaining the competitive advanteges. At fan, the continously weak dollar and the gteat support from governments of the concerning countrieS provide conditions for the fat development of firm annexation.
