Abstract The extrathymic pathway of T cell tolerance involvedin a multistep mechanism ,including anergy,deletion ,ino-grance and immunological suppression. The stability andreversibility of this peripheral T cell tolerance depend onwhich of the above mechanisms is operation,The study ofthe mechanisms of extrathymio I cell colerance will bepractically important in the prevpntion of rejection oftransplanted organs ,the treatment autoimmune dis-eases,and the application of the T cell based immunounothera-py.
