Butynediol, butenediol, and 1,4-butanediol in the multiple com-ponent aqueous solutions taken during the course of the hydrogenation of buty-nediol were determined by gas chromatography with accuracy. Because of the fairresolution and the shape of peaks, GDX-103 (80-100 mesh) carrying 15% PEG-20M was the material of choice, the internal standard was n-heptanol.
