The liquidus of ErCl_3-MgCl_2- LiCl ternary system has been investigated by meansof DTA.It was found that there are five surfaces correspending to the primary crystallizationof ErCl_3、Li_3ErCl_6、α、α_1、α_2 respectively,and six univariant lines related to the secondary crys-tallization in the esystem, The eutectic point is at 446℃(65.0%ErCl_3 ,18.5%MgCl_2,16.5%LiCl)and the peritectic point is at 470℃((56.0%ErCl_3,23.0%MgCl_2,21.0%LiCl)。
