The Diels-Alder cycloaddition of benzoquinone-2,5-dicarboxylates with cyclopentadiene derivatives was studied in detail. Photocycloaddition of the corresponding Diels-Alder adducts afforded C- trishomocubane derivatives; in the case of adduct 6, the Paterno-Buchi adduct 7 became dominant.
