由３８个杂交粳稻及其１２个亲本的６个产量性状和１３个品质性状的典范相关分析得出：两者以稻谷重、糙米重、精米重、每穗实粒数、单株产量间相关极显著。其他性状关系小。故对产量及其余品质性状同步选择可加速育成优质高产组合。提高产量宜着力增加穗数和结实粒数，籽粒不宜过大过宽过重。改良品质以糙米率、糙米长宽比、垩白率、透明度、食味最为关键，并互为正向关系，可同时改良，其中透明度、垩白率又是影响食味的主要直观性状。

Canonical correlation analysis between 6 yield characters and 13 quality characters from 38japonica hybrid rices and their 12 parents was conducted.The results showed that the correlation betweenthese 2 groups of characters were significantly affected by the weight of paddy,weight of brown rice,weightof milled rice,number of filled spikelets per panlcle and yield per plant,the correlation among othercharacters being relatively small.So selection for high yield characters and superior quality characters can bepractised simultaneously for the development of superior and high yield hybrid rice combinations,It is advis-able to improve yield potential by increasing the number of panicles and number of filled spikelets ratherthan the size,width and weiglit of grain.In improving rice quality,brown rice percentage,ratio of itslength vs width,chalky rice percentage,transparency and taste are the key factors,Among them,thechalky rice percentage and transparency affects directly the taste character.
