Design Feature of the Offset Printing Paper Technical Rebuilding Project of Yueyang Paper Mill

The rebuilding project of Yueyang Paper Mill was focused on technical rebuilding of its No.1 paper machine for producing offset printing paper. Original product of this machine was relief printing paper. No.1 paper machine will produce up to 120 tons per day after rebuilding. This artical introduces chief drawbacks existed in No.1 paper machine before it was rebuilt, characteristics of offset printing paper and the measures of technical rebuilding. The equipments which were imported from Beloit Co. Italy included a new stock approach system, thin-channel Converflo headbox, Bel-form former, Tri-vent press, four roll calender and model 4150 winder.Yueyang Paper Mill has improved its quality and output of the product through the technical rebuilding. After more than one year production the technical rebuilding has proved to be successful. The actual output of the machine has increased from 80 tons of relief paper to 130 tons of offset printing paper per day. The paper machine efficiency has attained 85 per cent. Steam consumption has been appreciably decreased, which has brought notable economical benefit.
