合谷穴为手阳明大肠经的原穴,为四总穴之一。古人常用于治疗头面诸疾,由于作用显著,取穴方便,适应范围广泛,故一直被古今医家所重视。近代医家通过不断的实践。

This paper concludes and analyses the location,acupuncture technique,function and effect of theacupoint Hegu (LI4) according to the ancient med-ical records and others' clinical practice.This paperintroduces the function of this point in relievingpain,relieving superficial symptoms and clarifyingheat,regulating qi and activing blood,bringingback yang.And it also gives some effective cases(?)The purpose of this paper is to combine the ancienttheory of traditional Chinese medi(?)me with the mod-ern clinical practice,to extend the scope of treat-meat and serve the patients effectively.
