Skeletal muscle injuries are common in manuallabour and sports training.They seriously affectthe subject's ability to work and to carry outtheir daily training,and even to lead a normallife.Therefore,to research into the mechanism ofskeletal muscle injuries and find the effective treat-ment for them would be of great significance boththeoretically and practically.In the last 15 years,we have applied oblique acupuncture and using the tender spot as the acu-point for the treatment of acute or chronic injuriesof the back and extremity muscles and achievednotable results.Among the 315 cases of musclein juries(mainly from 1986-1989)to which obliqueacupuncture treatment was applied,111 cases,or35.24% of the total,registered marked recovery,199 were cured which comprised 63.17% of thetotal.Among the 310 cases which were cured orachieved marked recovery 92.06% or 290 cases ofthem just recieved 1-3 treatment.
