he curative effecgof Astragalus membranceus Bungo A_6(A_6)in combination with acyclovir(ACV)on the mice infected with Herpes Simplex Virus type-1(HSV-Ⅰ)were studied.The mortality ofinfected mice treated with both A_6(250mg/kg/day×5)and ACV(50mg/kg/day× 5)was 46.88%,34.38%and 21.88%reduced and the mean surviral days(MSD)were 6.16,4.39 and 2.37 days ex-tended compared with the infected mice not treated or treated with A_6 or ACV respectively.The reaultssuggested that the curative effects of A_6 in combination with ACV were better than the effects of A_6 orACV alone on the mice infected with HSV-1.
