ased on publishel information available and the current investigation results,the pre-sent situation. cause of formation.prevention and amelioration measures for “Black soilpatch”grassland in Qinghai were disctissed. This type of grassland belongs to the dete-riorated Alpine Meadow.Its occurance and expanding greatly affects the developmentof Livestock farming in Qinghai province.The main causes of the “Black soil patch”were the results of a multiple-factored action, such as overgrazing ,rat damage ,strip-ping soil aid the soil frozei1 and dlefrosen ,the ravages of wind and rain etc. The coun-termeasures against this kind of grassland deterioration were put forward.
