With the reference of some books concerned,some analyses and studies on the characteristic value and its functions of academic periodicals have been.Apart from the hidden nature,the protracted nature and the stagnant nature,there also exist the dual nature,the difficult- to-fix-the-quantity nature and the contrast nature of the characteristis value of academic periodicals.Therefore,it is of importance to evaluate,in a right way,the values and functions of academic periodicals.
