n a case-control study, the epidemiologists are forced to use surrogate variable in place of factors which they are unable to measure dircctly due to thdeath of cases.The surrogate variable will result in misclassification and influ-ence the results of study.This paper introduced a method of correction of information obtained from the surrogate.The surrogate variable was corrected by means of an esti-mated reclassification matrix base on the responses fromliving cases for whom a surrogate was also interviewed.
