柴达木盆地盐湖中的风成砂

WINDBLOWN SAND IN THE SALT LAKES IN QAIDAM BASIN

柴达木盆地盐湖干盐滩上分布有大面积的沙丘、沙垅、沙地，表面被盐壳覆盖，盐湖含盐系中掺杂有大量的风成砂。风成砂形成时代最早为中更新世晚期，晚更新世晚期至全新世为盐湖中风成砂形成的鼎盛时期。

There is vast expanse of sand dune fields,dune ridges and sand sheet distributed aroundthe salt lakes in the Qaidam Basin. And the salt deposits in the lakes also contain a large quantity ofwindblown sand.Researches showed that the earliest deposition of windblown sand in the lakesoccurred in the late period of mid- Pleistocene and it reachcd a high-peak period between latePleistocene and Holocene. This is also consistent with the development processes of desertification in theQaidam Basin.
