The effect of Nω-nitro-L-argininemethyl ester(L-NAM E),one of arginine analoguesand inhibitors of NO synthase,on pressor responseelicited by sympathetic nerve stimulation in the pit-hed rats was investigated.L-NAM E(1, 0,3.0,10.0mg·kg-1)significantly enhanced pressor response in-duced by sympathetic nerve stimulation with 1,4, 16Hz frequencv and the effect was dose-dependent.Itsuggests that norepinephrine released from sympathet-ic nerve tenninal could lead to the produce of NO inendothelial cells which mocdulate repressively thepressor response to sympathetic nerve stimulation.
