The study by usjng standardmicroelectrode techniq ues in guinea pig papillary muscle in-dicated that ouabain-induced delayed a fter-depolariza tionand triggered acti vity were abolished by 7-chlor-benzyl-tetrahydropalmatine(7-chlor-BTHP)50 μmol·L-1. Anoth-er study showed that 7-chlor-BTHP prolonged monophasicAPD50 and APD90 from 222 ±20 and 314 ± 54 ms to 264±28 and 334 ± 54 ms(x±s, P< 0.05,n=5)respectivelyin normal myocardium of cat.In the meantime,the short-ened APD induccd by iscbemia and reperfusion was res-stored to normal level by 7-chlor-BTHP. 7-Chlor-BTHPdecreased monophasic action potential amplotude and heartrate from 55 ± 7 mV and 62 ± 8 beats· min-1 to 44±10mV and 57 ± 9 beats·min-1(x±s, P<0. 05,n=5)respectively.It also decreased incidences of vendcularfibrillation and mortality and could prothect againstmyocardial damagc caused by ischemia and reperfusion.
