Xie Liu-yi's Philosophy of Journalism Education

谢六逸是复旦大学新闻系的创办人及第一任系主任,对于开创我国新闻教育事业功绩甚大。他力倡新闻教育以利导社会,教育方式注重效用,培养要求强调综合素质。其新闻教育思想融理论与实践为一体,具有独创性。

Xie Liu-yi,founder and first chair of the Journalism Department of Fudan University,contributed a great deal to the establishment and development of journalism as an academic discipline in China.He advocated that journalism education should benefit the society,that a practical approach to journalism education should be used,and that emphasis should be placed on the overall development of the students.His theory of journalism education,characterized by an integration of theory and practice,is highly original.
