In City of Kawasaki,Shiga Naoya,by watching the death of three small animals, revealed that there should not be any contra-diction between life and death, but rather they are the two components of life, and the gap between life and death is not distant. In other words, there is no clear boundary between life and death. If we consider these two characteristics of life to be the truth, then we have to admit that life is always in a state of uncertainty. This uncertainty is exactly the charm of the 'the city of Kawasaki'.It also provides an important clue for readers to explore the philosophy of life and death.
