摘要
1965年,我从上海市工艺美术学校毕业后.被分配到上海工艺美术研究所。从此这里就成为我的主要职场。研究所成立于上个世纪五十年代中期.所里设有砚刻、刺绣、绒绣.玉雕、牙雕、竹刻、瓷刻,黄杨木雕、人造花等十多个工艺美术专业,并拥有薛佛影、张景安、冯秋萍、朱慈庵、徐宝庆等数十名著名的老艺人,是上海工艺美术代表人物云集的地方。虽然如今他们都已相继作古.但当初研究所老艺人工作生活的情景.却依然不时映现在我的眼前,其中与杨为义先生的交往,印象更为深刻,难以忘怀。杨为义先生在世时没有受到公正的对待,去世后又未受到充分的重视,以致现在的人们对他知晓甚少。
Yang Weiyi,born in 1925 in Nanjing Jiangsu Province,who's another name is Shao Shi or Zhuo Weng,has been loving art since his childhood.He began to learn by himself to copy traditional Chinese landscape painting at the age of 10,seal carving at the age of 11 and started to carve seal inscription of small character when he was 15 years old. Shortly afterwards,he worked on ivory seal carving in Shanghai and tried to make micro- carving of the landscape and characters as small as the ant's feet.When graduating from junior school in 1941,he took positions as an art teacher,advertisement drawer and etc and engaged in painting and calligraphy and seal cutting art.He had been the art and PE teacher in Shanghai Xingzhi Art School,Shanghai Art Normal School and Shanghai School of Practical Child Care since 1951 and at the same time devoted to art teaching theory.In Jun.1956 he was employed as an artist by Industrial Arts Institute to engage in research and innovation of the porcelain carving.
