乔十光先生是我国漆画界首屈一指的艺术家.也是我国现代漆画艺术的奠基人。他的作品享誉世界.曾多次在国外举办过个人作品展.国家有韩国、日本.越南、俄国、法国等.曾两次在中国美术馆举办个展.作品被国家美术馆收藏。继今年中国美术家协会为乔先生举办的个展之后.2008年5月17日至8月底上海双城现代手工艺术馆非常荣幸地承办乔十光先生的个人作品回顾展.

The Shanghai twocities gallery is honored to showcase Mr.Qiao Shiguang's work in'Retrospective.'Mr. Qiao Shi Guang is known as the'Father of contemporary lacquer painting'in China.As one major art critic says:'Whenever we talk about Chinese modern lacquer art,we have to first mention Mr.Qiao Shiguang.He is one of the most important artists in the field and has served as a bridge between tradition and innovation'.With international renown and respect for his accomplishments in the field of lacquer painting,Qiao Shiguang's works have been featured in solo exhibitions in Japan,Korea,Vietnam,Russia and France,as well as the National Art Museum of China in Beijing.His works are part of the permanent collection of several national art museums.Many major art critics and well established artists in China have written about Qiao Shiguang and his work,such people as Shao Da Zhen,Wu Guan Zhong,Hang Jian,Lv Pin Tian,Xia Shuo Qi...etc. Besides being a visual artist,Mr.Qiao Shiguang has also held various positions in academia.He served as the chief editor for a number of books,including The Complete Collection of Chinese Art Lacquer; he also served as the chair for the National Lacquer Artists Association.He launched the lacquer art program at the Central Academy for Arts and Crafts in Beijing.Even in retirement,Qiao Shiguang continues to create works of refined technique and beauty.
