THE COLLECTION WAY OF WANG SHIXIANG

有人问我的收藏之道,我没有收藏书画,没有收藏瓷器,没有收藏玉器,更没有收藏青铜器,因经济所限,对这些都不敢问津。只是用几元或一二十元的价格,掇拾于摊肆,访寻于旧家,人舍我取,微不足道。我过去只买些人舍我取的长物,通过它们来了解传统制作工艺;辨正文物之名称;或是坐对琴案,随手抚弄以赏其妙音;偶出把玩藉得片刻清娱。

Someone asked for my collection way.However, I do not collect paintings and calligraphies,china, jade articles nor bronze works.Owing to economic restriction,I even never make inquires on those items.I just buy some articles with a few bucks below twenty Yuan from small stalls and old houses. In the past,I only bought some fine articles that I like, to learn traditional fabricating process;distinguish the names of cultural relics;or perform on a musical instrument to enjoy the sound of it;or amuse myself with those works awhile.
