Metaphor research is greatly influenced by modern linguistic theory,which leads to the focus on the textual function of metaphor.The textual function of metaphor is multidimensional and systematic in itself,with different varieties of metaphor taking different positions.It has its advantages to make clear the relation between varieties of metaphor and the multidimensional construction of text from the perspective of metaphor classification.
