《桃花源记》并非纯虚构之作,它是以湖南古梅山峒及其傩坛"桃源洞"为原型,由陶渊明曾祖父陶侃任武冈令时的见闻及结合当时的一些笔记小说素材,所创作的一篇寄托了陶渊明对东晋黑暗社会现实不满的文学作品。《桃花源记》所描写的"桃花源"并非指一个具体的自然村落,而是指整个古梅山峒区。
