On Updating Marxism from the Debate about "Universal Value"

时下所论争的意识形态领域内所谓的"普世价值",实质上是当代西方国家对包括中国在内的发展中国家实施的去意识形态化的价值渗透。只有紧密结合时代特征和社会实践,积极构建具有中国特色的话语体系,稳固马克思主义在中国的指导地位,正确解读马克思主义的本真精神,推进马克思主义时代化,才能理性判断、积极反思并科学回应各种针对马克思主义时代发展问题的挑战,最终用发展了的马克思主义科学引领当代社会思潮。

The so-called 'universal value' which is controversial in the field of ideology is essentially the de-ideological value penetration imposed by western countries on developing countries including China. We should closely combine the era features with social practice, actively construct discourse system with Chinese characteristics, firmly strengthen the directing status of Marxism in China, and correctly interpret the essential spirit of Marxism so as to update it. Only in this way can we make rational judgment and active reflection on problems in updating Marxism and confront the challenges thus brought about. Only in this way can we lead the contemporary social ideological trend with updated Marxist science.
