The mathematical model of unit commitment is given and some simulating evolutionary algorithms to solve this problem are discussed, including genetic algorithm, immune algorithm, ant colony optimization algorithm, particle swarm optimization method, social evolutionary programming, cooperative coevolutionary algorithm and chaotic optimization method.
