The paper introduced the synthesis of diethylene glycol ethylmethyl ether （DGEME） were aswell as compared thedifferent. A new method for the synthesis of DGEME, which was based on Carbitol and CH3Cl as raw material, and with the use of water carrier, was approved. Compared to other methods, this way may have more advantages. Through the discussion and analysis concerned with the application of DGEME in various fields, The paper point out the market situation of DGEME.
