摘要
翻译是一个复杂的认知过程,由于人类认识的局限性,东西文化的差异性,汉语成语意义的隐喻性和不确定性及人们对作品理解的差异性导致成语翻译存在着疏漏和不当之处。本文以小说《围城》汉英对照本为例,通过典型的例句分析成语翻译中存在的一些歧义和走样的现象,剖析它们产生的原因,探究不同文化间的差异对准确翻译产生的影响。
Translation is a complicated cognition. Because of the limitation of human knowledge, some factors such as the East and the West culture differences, indefinite meanings and comprehension diversity of Chinese idioms often lead to inaccuracy and distortions in translation. With certain typical examples from Fortress Besieged, the paper analyzes the problems, their causes and how to avoid such mistranslations, and it also studies the influence of the East and the West cultures on the English translation of some Chinese idioms.
