The Secret of Manufacturing

惠山泥人是塑彩绘相结合的泥制工艺品。主要过程包括滤泥、捶泥、打稿、捏塑、翻模、印模、整修、打底、着色、开相、上油等十几道工序。泥玩具多为模制，先做好原型翻成模子，再用模子压印出泥胎，修束晾干后着色、彩绘。模子分单片和双片两种。双片模所得泥胎为空心，可以减轻泥人重量并节省材料，如“寿星”、“双阿福”等作品都是双片模制成的。

Huishan clay figurines combine moulding, coloring and painting with dozens of working procedures. Clay dolls are mainly moulded products： mould patterns are made first, then unpainted clay idols are pressed and finally clay idols are colored and painted after they dry out.
