本文认为作为教材的中国古代文学史应该注重三个方面:一是古代文学的流变,二是运用比较的方法体现作家作品的个性,三是作家作品的社会批评,不宜以社会批评掩盖人性批评。

The author thinks that as a teaching material, the Chinese Ancient Literary History should lay stress on three aspects. First is to illustrate the changing of the ancient literature. Then people should use a comparative method to show the characters of writers and their works, Last but not the least, people should also pay attention to the social criticism of the writers and works. They ought not to cover the criticism in humanity by it.
