确立一个国家所处的发展阶段,是她在一定时期制定政策的主要理论依据和出发点。20世纪50年代末70年代初,张闻天针对党在社会主义发展阶段上的理论偏差,依据中国国情,提出了一系列关于社会主义发展阶段的论述。其集中表现为:正本清源,科学阐述马列“过渡阶段”理论;社会主义社会是一个独立的、长期的历史阶段;社会主义社会本身也有自己的若干小阶段。这些思想无疑是马列“过渡阶段”理论的继承和创造性的运用,表现出一个共产党人深邃的理论智慧。
