Clinical evaluation of mummification of dental pulp through variant cervical dental cavity in the elderly

目的:评价老年人牙颈部变异洞形干髓术的临床效果。方法:244例牙髓炎患牙随机分二组,分别从牙合面和牙颈部开髓完成干髓术,比较疗效。结果:变异洞形干髓术和常规干髓术有效率差异无显著性,但变异洞形干髓术牙折的发生率低于常规干髓术。结论:变异洞形干髓术可作为治疗老年人牙髓炎的一种方法,但应以完善的根管治疗取代。

Objective： To evaluate the clinical effect of mummification of dental pulp through variant cervical dental cavity in elderly people. Methods： 244 teeth with pulpitis were randomly divided into two groups and then mummification of dental pulp were performed through occlusal surface or cervical surface. The clinical efficacy was reviewed. Results： There was no significant difference in the rates of success between two groups, but the rate of fracture in variant cavity group was lower than that of occlusal cavity group. Conclusion： Mummification of dental pulp through variant dental cavity was an effective method for pulpitis when physical condotions and capability of economical acceptance in the elderly was considered.
