On the Spirit of Moral Salvation of the Revolutionary Groups of Hubei before 1911

辛亥前湖北革命团体积极致力于革命活动,为武昌首义立下不朽功勋。他们从事革命活动的背后,有赖于道德救世精神的强力支撑。此一精神涵盖甚广,其内涵主要体现为知耻救世、尽责尚武的道义精神,自强不息、百折不回的进取精神,大公无私、勇作奉献的牺牲精神。此三者从思想上奠定了这一革命的不败之基。

The revolutionary groups in Hubei took an active part in the revolution and made contributions to Wuchang Revolt in 1911. What they had done was dependent on the spirit of the moral salvation, which included many aspects but mainly occurred as the following： the moral spirit of having a sense of shame and saving the nation, the spirit of keeping forging ahead, constantly striving to become stronger and keeping fighting in spite of all setbacks, and the sacrificing spirit of being selfless and having the courage to offer oneself as a tribute. These laid a successful foundation for the revolution.
