The synthesis of highly pure hydrogen gas has becomes one of the key points in the materials research of the 21st century. As the critical process of the pure hydrogen synthesis, the separation techniques for hydrogen gas arose great interest of researchers. This paper introduces the principles, characteristics, applications and the current researches of the separation techniques for hydrogen gas. In addition, the existing problems and developing trends of the separation techniques for hydrogen gas are discussed.
