Based on the operating principle of the Z-source inverter, an abnormal operating state of Z-source inverter is found and analyzed. An undesired drop of the dc link voltage before the inverter occurs in the interval of abnormal operating state, which would lower the ac output voltage quality. Through detailed analysis of the cause and the operating condition, the effective solution is proposed and the experiment results prove the validity of the theoretical analysis.
