海明威小说中的语言艺术

On the Artistic Use of Language in Hemingway' s Novels

海明威小说的创作从叙述语言与人物话语方面表现了其所精通的“现代叙事艺术”。海明威小说叙述语言的特点体现在四个方面:运用语言提示;用动、名词写作;使用情绪语言,让作品情景诗化;对叙述语言进行选择与限制等。而在人物话语(包括对话与独白)方面,海明威用人物话语替代传统小说中的描写、叙述、议论和说明,创造了新的风格。

Hemingway＇ s novel writing displays his good mastery of “the modem narrative art” in his employment of the narrative language and character language. The features of Hemingway＇ s narrative language can be found in the following four aspects： the employment of word prompt; writing with nouns and verbs; the employment of emotional language and .poetic scenes; the careful choice and restriction of the narrative language. In the aspect of his character language （ including dialogues and monologues）, Hemingway created a new writing style by replacing the traditional description, narration, comments and explanation with the character language.
